Hatem Bazian, a professor at the University of California at Berkeley, calls for no normalization of or cooperation with Zionist students and academics alike and rejects interfaith dialogue. He denies Jewish connection to Israel and shared content from the antisemitic website Mondoweiss.

Bazian uttered these words during the Second Intifada (2000-2005) when more than 1,000 Israelis were killed, and thousands were injured in stabbings, shootings, suicide bombings, and other terrorist attacks. 70% were civilian fatalities.
