Louis Farrakhan

Louis Farrakhan is the leader of the Nation of Islam and is a virulent antisemite. Farrakhan has referred to Jews as “termites” in the past and spews hate against other minority groups such as the LGBT community. This bigoted leader strongly believes that Jews control the U.S. government, and has made several extremely antisemitic comments throughout the years.

“Pedophilia and sexual perversion institutionalized in Hollywood and the entertainment industries can be traced to Talmudic principles and Jewish influence. Not Jewish influence, Satanic influence under the name of Jew.”
-Louis Farrakhan, Saviours’ Day speech, Chicago, Feb. 17, 2019

His hatred also spreads to the state of Israel:

“And the Christian right, with your blindness to that wicked state of Israel …can that be the holy land, and you have gay parades, and want to permit to have a gay parade in Jerusalem when no prophet ever sanctioned that behavior. How can that be the Israel, how can that be Jerusalem with secular people running the holy land when it should be the holy people running the holy land. That land is gonna be cleansed with blood!”
-Louis Farrakhan, Saviours’ Day speech, Chicago, Feb. 26, 2006

Farrakhan has repeatedly claimed that Jews are enjoined by their religion to poison prophets and that Jews have “broken their covenant
relationship with God.”

He refers to all Jews as “Satan” and the “enemy of God,” and has said that white people “are born with lie[s] [sic] and murder in their nature.” He also encouraged his listeners to “fight Satan the arch deceiver [and] the imposter Jews who are worthy of the chastisement of God.”

“The Jews, a small handful, control the movement of this great nation, like a radar controls the movement of a great ship in the waters. … The Jews got a stranglehold on the Congress.”

Farrakhan is arguably the most popular antisemite in America. His July 4, 2020 address received more than 1.2 million views in two weeks, but has since been removed.

Notably, celebrities such as Nick Cannon, Stephen Jackson, TI, 2Chainz, Rick Ross, Jay Electronica, Stephanie Mills, and Syleena Johnson attended Farrakhan’s speech and, by doing so, legitimized his antisemitic hatred and gave him a larger platform to spew falsehoods and dangerous rhetoric.

Some of these people have distanced themselves from Farrakhan, like Nick Cannon. But others, like campus speaker and anti-Israel activist Linda Sarsour, remain close to him. Despite claiming to be progressive individuals, Sarsour and Women’s March activists like Tamika Mallory have not denounced his bigotry.
