In her book, Erakat attempts to reframe international law into a settler-colonialist framework. This has garnered her many guest lectures and speaking engagements around the country, where she regularly peddles ideas that “Israel is a European satellite state,” and that Zionism is a form of “Jewish supremacy.”

Hebrew is a centuries-old language revitalized in the 19th century. It is a Semitic language indigenous to the Middle East. Evidence of written and spoken Hebrew in the Levant dates back thousands of years.

Erakat demonstrates ignorance about Zionism and Jewish identity. Yet, she has no qualms about defining Jewish identity and erasing Jewish history. Erakat undermines Zionism, the enduring movement for Jews to self-determine in their indigenous homeland because it doesn’t fit her narrative.

In the wake of Hamas’s violent and despicable attack against Israel, Erakat tweeted justification for attack, including the kidnapping of civilians. On October 9th she stated that the claims of rape were unverified and were used to prepare audiences for a genocide against the Palestinians.
